Winter Health

Our Health Information service is always busy during the colder months. Our Health Care Advisors answer numerous enquiries from people seeking information or support.

With gas and electricity prices going up, we not only recommend looking at other sources of energy suppliers, but will advise on how to be healthy this winter!

Winter can be a difficult time of year, and our Health Care Advisors often assist callers who need information to beat the ‘winter blues’. Some callers have been given a diagnosis of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and need information about the condition.

You can help to boost your mental wellbeing during winter by spending plenty of time in natural daylight, especially on sunny days, eating healthily, taking plenty of exercise and if possible deferring stressful activities (e.g. moving house, starting a new job) until the summer.
